Tignes has a reputation as being one of Europe’s top spots and the only of the ski resorts in Europe to have a real summer ski area. Skiers and riders of all types come to the Grande Motte glacier from June to August to train along with the ski racers. This is the dream playground to enjoy snowsports in the sun and breath-taking scenery.
The municipality of Tignes covers 55 000 hectares. Almost half is in the Vanoise National Park, which is adjacent to the Gran Paradiso National Park, making it the largest protected area in Europe.
There are several lifts open for walkers and cyclists to access La Tovière and Aiguille Percée.
Walkers can enjoy the magic of the region by following the marked trails to see the variety of animals (including marmots, chamois, ibex, bearded vultures …) and carpets of alpine flowers.
For mountain bike lovers, the Bike Park is accessible to everyone with trails for every level from greens to technical black as well as a beginners area to try biking in the mountains and a cleaning area for the bikes…

Why not enjoy the wellness and aquatic centre LE LAGON or TIGNESPACE with your family or friends, only 10 minutes away by foot.
There is also rafting and other white water activities a car ride away down the valley on the world-renowned Isere River.
There is a free shuttle bus to get to the Lac and Val Claret villages less than 80 m from the residence. There is also a ski bus to the nearby resort of Val d’Isère.
